You cannot make this stuff up

Good news: I do not have strep throat!
But what, you say? (Those of you who heard me complaining about the dime-to-quarter sized white spot, at least.)
Bad news: I have a CANKER SORE. IN MY THROAT.
This is nothing to worry about! I have antivirals and pain meds and it's raw but not bad but ...what. Is this possible!!! I mean, cankers are for gums!
:O!

on 2008-02-27 09:13 pm (UTC)Specifically canker-wise, though, there was a time in an airplane when I managed to mostly swallow part of a toothpick. I though it was lodged in the back of my throat for the longest of time (the rest of the cross-pacific flight) until we landed in Hong Kong, and they checked it out in the airport. Some anesthetic and a tongue depressor later, they concluded that it wasn't stuck there anymore, but rather I had finished swallowing it (they told me not to worry?). What was there were a few cuts from the toothpick, which weren't friendly, especially since I have post nasal drip.
It felt a lot like what you are describing - a very mild sore throat. Of course, you managed to avoid thinking that you were going to die before touching down or something.
It should go away pretty soon, assuming you aren't stressed... Oh wait.
Best of luck with it.
