A. Has my portrayal of a character(s) changed the way you think of him/her?
(IN SOVIET RUSSIA THE COMMENTERS ANSWER YOU. AKA, this one's all yours :O!)
Characters who have been in more than once: Finn dan Shahar (The Fionavar Tapestry), John Connor (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Dr. Zach Addy (Bones, deleted), Cora (Narnia), Filif (Young Wizards), Mitt Mittson (The Dalemark Quartet), Helen Haras-uquara (Homeward Bounders), Rue (Princess Tutu)

B. Pick one of my characters and I'll answer the following questions about him or her.
Additional characters for this: Legolas (Lord of the Rings), Ben Gates (National Treasure)

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
3. What do they dream about?
4. What's their biggest fear?
5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
6. What is their fondest memory?
7. What is their worst memory?
8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.
9. What do they believe makes a successful life?
10. What makes them laugh?
11. What are their religious views?
12. What is their greatest strength?
13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?
14. Who is the most important person in their life?
15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

C. Pick a fandom, any fandom I'm in. I will tell you some stuff that may involve canon ships, fanon ships, fanon trends, and whether or not I think things jumped the shark or went absolutely nuts, or where I myself stopped watching and why!

(Note: when I say 'fandom I'm in', that basically means 'anything I've seen or read and know well enough to remember', since only in the very loosest sense could I be counted properly in any fandoms. A basic list: any one in which I play a character, Lord Peter Wimsey, Harry Potter, and uhhhh. Uhhhhhhhhhh. It's 2 am, I'll get back to this.)

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
Helen would kill someone if it was the SMART THING TO DO. duh. :P Uh, more seriously: If she felt they were a genuine threat to her life or to an ally's, if they broke a law that demanded death as a sentence. She's a lot less cool about killing people than she'd like anyone to know, though--it makes her distressed D:. Helen would die for her world, and for KNOWLEDGE AND JUSTICE though just knowledge is okay really! She'd rather not, though.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

Helen would never, ever, burn a book. Knowledge is sacred. She probably also wouldn't betray her friends, but then again she might for a good reason (the good of her world?). Sorry, Jamie ):.

3. What do they dream about?

Normal dreams, really: her mom, embarassing herself by forgetting important facts, boys. She vehemently denies the latter.

4. What's their biggest fear?

Helen's scared that people will figure out that she's a mutant aberration that should be wiped from the face of the world not someone with a "gift". Also she's scared Jamie will get his IDIOT SELF KILLED. She's not scared that she won't unite the warring nations of one world under one government, because she totally will.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
Nothing specifically, but she does find it hard to part with things that might be practical. Actually, she just finds it hard to part with things in generaly. They're reassuring when they stay the same.

6. What is their fondest memory?

Any memories about her mother.

7. What is their worst memory?

Less singular memory, but the whole bit when she thought Konstam was going to kill her was pretty horrifying.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

Uquar is by far the largest influence in her life. Even when she didn't believe he existed her drive was/is to show herself worthy to be his actor in her world. Also because she thinks he makes logical sense, so it works.

Except she kind of wants to kick him in the shin.

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

A successful life, or a life well-lived, is one in which you fulfil your duties and don't try to delude yourself about the world. To pursue truth where it relates to your life.

10. What makes them laugh?

Jokes that she gets (which are few), seeing someone else completely screwing something easy up, anything that gives her a rush of power.

11. What are their religious views?

Helen believes that the god Uquar is the god of knowledge that brings understanding. To worship Uquar is to chase knowledge, and to not let yourself exist with misapprehensions of reality.

12. What is their greatest strength?

Helen is incredibly aware of her duties in life and will fulfil them if it takes her last breath. She is also coldly logical under pressure, and will do what is necessary without taking into account what pain it might cause her.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

Helen has very little in the way of empathy, and what she has she does not share. She also thinks she's a lot smarter than she is (though she is a lot smarter than most other people think).

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

Jamie, probably. He and Joris are both her friends, but he's the only one she can trust to not turn on her because she's part-demon.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

If Helen died her advisors would miss her the most (Jamie, I'm sure, would get over it fairly quickly--he's had practice)--she's their queen and messiah archetype. Helen would die by trying to be too badass for her own good. Fistfight with a dinosaur, or something.

C.

I SHIP NOSER AND LACEY.

(I ship Middleman/Lacey too, but they aren't my OTP!)

Also I think Pip is kind of hilarious and want him to become a Middleboy in some AU so he can complain about the costume a lot and whine at supervillains. I basically love all of Middleman, I have to admit, but I solidly ignore anything post-cancellation. IGNORING. because I genuinely loved how it ended. It didn't need epic.

Uuuuh that's it

OH EXCEPT THAT THE MIDDLEMAN NEEDS TO GIVE EDWARD A TALKING TO ABOUT HOW TO WOO A LADY. :O

B: Rue
C: Peter Wimsey!

A: Aw, thanks!

B:

Iiii am answering this for current-canon Rue :D

Rue refers to straight 'Rue', Rue/Kraehe refers to answers that are for, well, Rue and Rue-who-is-Kraehe. oh Rue.

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

She would kill to protect Mytho and to keep him to herself. She...I don't think she'd die for anyone. Maybe for Mytho.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

Rue would refuse to give up dancing, ever. It's her life and her dream and her hope etc.

Rue/Kraehe would refuse to give up Mytho. He's her Prince.

Kraehe would refuse to give up flight. Escape routes are necessary when you're a scared evil bird.

3. What do they dream about?

Rue/Kraehe dreams about darkness and blood.

Rue on rare good nights has dreams that are very...normal in nature, except Mytho tells her that he loves her and that she rocks. Those dreams suck in the morning.

4. What's their biggest fear?

That the Prince won't love her.

That she'll break something, and be rendered useless.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

...uhhh. Her ballet shoes? Not really sure.

6. What is their fondest memory?

Rue: Making the advance class. :)

Rue/Kraehe: Finding her Prince

7. What is their worst memory?

She's suppressed most of these.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

THE MONSTER RAVEN.

Well, he's her dad and he's evil and he's emotionally (and physically?) abused her since the day she was born he kidnapped her, and turned her into a weird raven human hybrid. She has her drive to succeed from the fact that she's fighting so hard for people not to realize she's a messed up twisted failure who no one could ever love. D:

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

Not failing or whining or showing weakness or giving in.

10. What makes them laugh?

Rue laughs when she's startled.

Rue/Kraehe laughs when she wants to hurt your feelings.

Kraehe laughs when she wants to kill you :O.
11. What are their religious views?

...Princess Tutu has religion? :O!

12. What is their greatest strength?

She will do whatever it takes to see something through.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

Obsession--losing track of the outside world.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

Mytho.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

...Probably Duck and Mr. Cat (and Autor!!!). Her dad would eat her heart.

I want to write a crossover with Princess Tutu post-canon.

You mean, during the Great War? It could happen! Fakir and Peter, looking at each other across the trenches...

Also, I would hug Rue if she would let me. Fortunately Duck doesn't care whether Rue lets her or not!

Basically Bunter is the most amazing human being in existence. I never got the awesomeness of Hon. Freddie Arbuthnot? I mean, he kind of bores me to tears. I think Murder Must Advertise is the best Wimsey novel of all time, hands down no competition (though they all rock).

...I really do not see Peter Wimsey/Bunter at all (is that an unpopular fan opinion?), but while I love Harriet I don't OTP her with Peter though I ship them vaguely 'cause canon does a good job of it. I like Peter with what's her face the artist who is in Strong Poison and, um, Belona Club. She rocks.

The Dowager Duchess is my second favorite person. *shiny eyes* And I think she should rule the world with her run on sentences :D!!!

I want to write a crossover with Princess Tutu post-canon.

...a-yep. (THIS ICON WAS MADE FOR THAT SERIES)

Since he's such a sweetie- b)Filif!

on 2009-10-11 05:53 am (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] dictator-duck.livejournal.com
1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

Filif will kill only when it will keep fewer from dying. But when faced with that situation, he will act without second thought. He would die to defy the Lone Power, and to serve the One it whatever capacity It may see fit.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
Filif would never under any circumstances serve the Lone Power. It would be to defy everything he knows, to give up being a Wizard, and to betray his friends and his universe.

In a more practical aspect: he's never going to light living creatures on fire. That's just cruel.

3. What do they dream about?

Filif dreams about the rustling forests of his people, his family and his home.

4. What's their biggest fear?

Burning.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

His claudication pocket! It's very useful.

6. What is their fondest memory?

He has many fond memories. Most of them involve Carmela or Duo. :D friends :D

7. What is their worst memory?

Basically that time when the universe almost got ate. That sucked. Whenever his friends die, even if they come back.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

Nnnnno one in canon that I can think of. He comes into canon pretty fully formed, so probably a few of his people back home. In canon, Carmela.

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

To defy the darkness, to love and be loved.

10. What makes them laugh?

Humor involving incongruities, mostly.

11. What are their religious views?

Uuuuuh The Powers that Be are very...hyper-real in the YW books, and Filif respects them. If anyone probably The Whisperer, who speaks to his people, would count as his god. I don't know how to really explain his religious views.

12. What is their greatest strength?

Filif can weather any storm you throw at him. He's been at wizardry a long time, and its given him the ability to handle hardship with great equanamity.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

...I really don't think he does.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

Will it sound harsh if I say "no one"? Carmela is his closest friend.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

Sker'ret and Carmela, probably. He'd die fighting entropy.
