A. Has my portrayal of a character(s) changed the way you think of him/her?
(IN SOVIET RUSSIA THE COMMENTERS ANSWER YOU. AKA, this one's all yours :O!)
Characters who have been in more than once: Finn dan Shahar (The Fionavar Tapestry), John Connor (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Dr. Zach Addy (Bones, deleted), Cora (Narnia), Filif (Young Wizards), Mitt Mittson (The Dalemark Quartet), Helen Haras-uquara (Homeward Bounders), Rue (Princess Tutu)
B. Pick one of my characters and I'll answer the following questions about him or her.
Additional characters for this: Legolas (Lord of the Rings), Ben Gates (National Treasure)
1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
3. What do they dream about?
4. What's their biggest fear?
5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
6. What is their fondest memory?
7. What is their worst memory?
8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.
9. What do they believe makes a successful life?
10. What makes them laugh?
11. What are their religious views?
12. What is their greatest strength?
13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?
14. Who is the most important person in their life?
15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?
C. Pick a fandom, any fandom I'm in. I will tell you some stuff that may involve canon ships, fanon ships, fanon trends, and whether or not I think things jumped the shark or went absolutely nuts, or where I myself stopped watching and why!
(Note: when I say 'fandom I'm in', that basically means 'anything I've seen or read and know well enough to remember', since only in the very loosest sense could I be counted properly in any fandoms. A basic list: any one in which I play a character, Lord Peter Wimsey, Harry Potter, and uhhhh. Uhhhhhhhhhh. It's 2 am, I'll get back to this.)

on 2009-10-10 07:20 pm (UTC)1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
Helen would kill someone if it was the SMART THING TO DO. duh. :P Uh, more seriously: If she felt they were a genuine threat to her life or to an ally's, if they broke a law that demanded death as a sentence. She's a lot less cool about killing people than she'd like anyone to know, though--it makes her distressed D:. Helen would die for her world, and for KNOWLEDGE AND JUSTICE though just knowledge is okay really! She'd rather not, though.
2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
Helen would never, ever, burn a book. Knowledge is sacred. She probably also wouldn't betray her friends, but then again she might for a good reason (the good of her world?). Sorry, Jamie ):.
3. What do they dream about?
Normal dreams, really: her mom, embarassing herself by forgetting important facts, boys. She vehemently denies the latter.
4. What's their biggest fear?
Helen's scared that people will figure out that she's a mutant aberration that should be wiped from the face of the world not someone with a "gift". Also she's scared Jamie will get his IDIOT SELF KILLED. She's not scared that she won't unite the warring nations of one world under one government, because she totally will.
5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
Nothing specifically, but she does find it hard to part with things that might be practical. Actually, she just finds it hard to part with things in generaly. They're reassuring when they stay the same.
6. What is their fondest memory?
Any memories about her mother.
7. What is their worst memory?
Less singular memory, but the whole bit when she thought Konstam was going to kill her was pretty horrifying.
8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.
Uquar is by far the largest influence in her life. Even when she didn't believe he existed her drive was/is to show herself worthy to be his actor in her world. Also because she thinks he makes logical sense, so it works.
Except she kind of wants to kick him in the shin.
9. What do they believe makes a successful life?
A successful life, or a life well-lived, is one in which you fulfil your duties and don't try to delude yourself about the world. To pursue truth where it relates to your life.
10. What makes them laugh?
Jokes that she gets (which are few), seeing someone else completely screwing something easy up, anything that gives her a rush of power.
11. What are their religious views?
Helen believes that the god Uquar is the god of knowledge that brings understanding. To worship Uquar is to chase knowledge, and to not let yourself exist with misapprehensions of reality.
12. What is their greatest strength?
Helen is incredibly aware of her duties in life and will fulfil them if it takes her last breath. She is also coldly logical under pressure, and will do what is necessary without taking into account what pain it might cause her.
13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?
Helen has very little in the way of empathy, and what she has she does not share. She also thinks she's a lot smarter than she is (though she is a lot smarter than most other people think).
14. Who is the most important person in their life?
Jamie, probably. He and Joris are both her friends, but he's the only one she can trust to not turn on her because she's part-demon.
15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?
If Helen died her advisors would miss her the most (Jamie, I'm sure, would get over it fairly quickly--he's had practice)--she's their queen and messiah archetype. Helen would die by trying to be too badass for her own good. Fistfight with a dinosaur, or something.

on 2009-10-10 07:22 pm (UTC)I SHIP NOSER AND LACEY.
(I ship Middleman/Lacey too, but they aren't my OTP!)
Also I think Pip is kind of hilarious and want him to become a Middleboy in some AU so he can complain about the costume a lot and whine at supervillains. I basically love all of Middleman, I have to admit, but I solidly ignore anything post-cancellation. IGNORING. because I genuinely loved how it ended. It didn't need epic.
Uuuuh that's it
OH EXCEPT THAT THE MIDDLEMAN NEEDS TO GIVE EDWARD A TALKING TO ABOUT HOW TO WOO A LADY. :O
