Is there a sign on my head that says "WILL ORGANIZE ALL GROUP PROJECTS AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY DESPITE HAVING NO TIME AND BEING TERRIFIED OF PEOPLE THINKING THAT SHE IS ANNOYING?"

Just...asking.

Princess Tutu: En Pointe

Lemme tell you a long rambly story. )
'Cause I am catching a plane tomorrow and I will likely be awfully bored! And then I will spend ten days with a bunch of quiet people and likely write a lot. Most of you know my fandoms, um. Diana Wynne Jones (specifically Homeward Bounders, Dalemark, Tale of Time City)/Princess Tutu/Gundam Wing/LotR (except only sketchily as it has be YEARS)/other...stuff?

*waggles hands* Please! I would appreciate it! I cannot promise that anything will be written, but y'know! :) Post what fandom/characters/prompts!

And Milliway-verse is aaaalways cool.
Baked Corn
Serves 6
Preheat oven to 350 F (177 C)
40-45 minute bake time
Combine and mix well:
2 c. cooked corn, drained
2/3 c. milk
2 eggs, beaten
½ t. salt
Dash pepper
1 c. shredded cheese (4 oz.) (we use cheddar)
2 T. minced onions (optional)
2 T. minced green peppers (optional)
[My family usually leaves out the green peppers, but sometimes we substitute in jalapenos…:)]
Pour into greased 1 ½ quart casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes, or until springy & top is lightly gold-brown.

This is always my responsibility to make for big family gatherings. I am not as awesome at it as my mom, but mm tasty. :D

Hi dearest author-of-mine! I hope you get to read this! I really have no further requests beyond what I requested in the requests thing (yay, word repetition >.>)but THANK YOU SO MUCH for writing!

Just so you know, I usually like stuff that's a little introspective about relationships/every-day scenes that highlight interaction between characters and stuff, but if that is not your style no big!

Thanks again!

Writing a personal just-for-me-ish autobiography that is less an autobiography and more a collection of memories and stories from when I was wee...

...is way too pretentious, right?

Except I'm thinking about it more in a scrapbook way of getting them down before I forget them.

Hm.
>.>

Hi.

I builded a fic but I eated it: http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/59/learningto.html

Carry on.

>.>

PS: there are some slight grammar/formatting issues that are bugging me but yuletide does not let you edit post-submission and I didn't catch them until this reread!!! Please forgive. <3
Soooo I kind of broke my laptop harddrive somehow. We are trying to get it to boot with CDs and my dad is finagling to see if he can get my information (i.e. a year's worth of essays, lab reports, stories, poetry, random information for Milliways characters, chatlogs, icons...the list goes on) off of it.

<3 you all, but this means I won't be online as much because I have to be downstairs where my parents regulate my use of the internets. Much loffles and catch you on the fliiiip side of this minor disaster. As for now, I am going to go swim.

Mwah!

(Also, if you happen to have stories I've sent you saved I would totes appreciate you e-mailing them to me but it's okay if you don't have any! I don't really expect it, :)).
"Which five authors would you say have most influenced the way you write/think about writing, and what have they taught you?"

My five authors, in no particular order: Terry Pratchett, Diana Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman, C.S. Lewis, JRR Tolkien

PTerry has taught me even serious stories have an inherent absurdity--and even the most absurd stories can give you an insight into serious matters.
DWJ has taught me that people who have great destinies are still people and real and flawed, but that doesn't make them any less heroic
Gaiman has taught me that there is something inherently mystic and awful about the nature of belief and how that shapes the people in that world
Lewis has taught me that universes have rules that must be followed (and the deep love of the parentheses)
Tolkien has taught me how much beauty there is in a logical progression of things, a system that weaves together a tale because there's no toher way it could go--that it's the inherent rightness of the world

Go forth, and answer it for yourselves! :D

ETA: You do not necessarily have to have what you've been taught highly expressed in your actual writing--I'd be a much better writer, for example, if it was. Also, writers can be any sort of writer you can imaigne--if you're more into film or television it can be scriptwriters or idea-people, or people who write comics, whatever. :)
so you knew being healthy was too much to ask.

apparently having a sickness that people believe you have is too much to ask too.

and medication? wooo, boy, what sort of fantasy world do YOU live in.
I went to a fisher church group tonight. I left finding myself...strangely angry and upset. I found no fault with the logic they used, and I learned from their sermon...but. But.

Context

I am very, very easy to hurt emotionally. Mostly because my logic tends to be me-centered instead of you-centered (you being general).

So (in my mind/emotional process) if you don't do something unimportant you said you would, it's not because a) you're busy b) you just forgot c) something else innocuous, it's because I've done something to annoy you and you hate me and I'm a horrible person who is always going to mess friendships up.

Over-melodramatic, I know, but it's honestly how I respond to things. Mostly because half the time irl it's been true.

So when you say you'll do something, do it. Or give qualifiers before hand, or let me know when it's being delayed why it is and when it is being delayed until and then meet that deadline.

Please. I am really effing sick of driving myself to tears because people've forgotten little things they told me they'd do months ago.

and feel free to call me on when I do this, and poke me to continue. There ARE legitimate reasons lots of times, for me as well as you guys though I just suck at recognizing it in other people, so POKE ME. Because I don't want to make anyone else feel this bad, and I don't want to forget anyone. If you want to give permission for me to poke you too, that'd be nice, but I won't without permission. Because probably most of the time you guys honestly don't want to do whatever you said you would.

Thanks for listening to my ramble. Sorry for being stupid.
These were technically supposed to not revolve around Milliways, but all three (and cameos) are Milliways pups so PLEASE FORGIVE ANY VOICE SLAUGHTERING. Also, I'd forgotten too much of Elda's canon so I stole IRL and Milliways and made a fic of it! :D!

People in these days speak of terror often. They speak of flames and death and suffocation and men with axes and machine guns, they speak of cold creeping cancer, of minds turned against themselves, of that ever present danger of loss.

It is an old, tired terror. It is a terror less of the thing and more of that which promises to follow—the constant litany of but I am too young to die.

That is not what terror used to be. Terror used to be long, sinuous muscle, arched back and arched neck and arched wings, covered in scales the size of small plates. Terror used to wise, angry eyes and poisonous breath and long, fearsome fangs.

Terror used to be real, used to reach back to the hindbrain and wring tears from the bravest of men, forcing heroes to their knees out of sheer ancestral horror, overwhelmed by what stood before them.

This is terror: unbridled, untamed, and undimmed by ages past.

This is the dragon.

Good news: I do not have strep throat!

But what, you say? (Those of you who heard me complaining about the dime-to-quarter sized white spot, at least.)

Bad news: I have a CANKER SORE. IN MY THROAT.

This is nothing to worry about! I have antivirals and pain meds and it's raw but not bad but ...what. Is this possible!!! I mean, cankers are for gums!

:O!
